Set the Default Font for Hyperlinks in Excel

The options for formatting and editing your file in Excel are almost limitless. This is true for text, font, numbers, or any other category.

In the example below, we will show how to set the default font for hyperlinks.

Set the Default Font for Hyperlinks

The first thing we need to do is to create a link. We will use the link for Google for this:

It is visible that the usual color for the link is blue, and it is underlined. We will go to the cell A2, then go to the Home tab >> Styles >> Cell Styles:

We can see the format of a hyperlink. We will right-click on it, and then choose Modify option:

On the window that appears, we will click on Format:

There, you can choose the desired formatting. For our example, we will choose the font color to be purple:

We will click OK twice, and our changes will be implemented.

Saving Template

Now we need to save our changes, to use them later in our project. For this option, we will first delete our link and content from cell A1, then go to File >> Save As, and then find the Templates folder. For me, the location is:

C:\Users\Harun\Documents\Custom Office Templates

We will then save the file in the location stated above.

The final step for us is to open this template. We will do that by opening the new Excel file, then selecting New file, and then choosing Personal:

In there, we will see the Hyperlinks document that we saved. When we open it, we can track the format for hyperlinks on Cell Styles and we will see that the color of hyperlinks is set to be purple:
