Remove Page Breaks in Excel

When your spreadsheet is formatted to print the automatic page break lines are created. They are represented by dotted horizontal and vertical lines.

You can also have manual page breaks represented by solid horizontal and vertical lines.

You have them, but you want to get rid of them. In this lesson, I’ll show you what you can do.

Remove manual page breaks

If you want to remove page breaks that were inserted manually, click a cell next to the horizontal or vertical break and navigate to Page Layout >> Page Setup >> Breaks >> Remove Page Break.

The manual lines next to the active cell were removed.

If you want to get rid of all manual page breaks, click Reset All Page Breaks.

Remove automatic page breaks

After removing manual page breaks, you still have the dotted lines automatically created by Excel.

To remove them, navigate to File >> Options >> Advanced.

On the right side of the window, search for the Display option for this worksheet. There is a checkbox called Show page breaks. Uncheck it.

After you click OK, the break lines are gone.

Remove automatic and manual page breaks

You can remove both manual and automatic page breaks very quickly using the Immediate Window.

To open it, first, you need to open VBA (Left Alt + F11). Now, use Ctrl + B to open the immediate window.

After you do it, enter this code.

This is what it looks like inside the window.

Press Enter to execute it. This will remove all types of break lines.
